Hello,

Thank you all for your support and patience during this trying time.  We have been working feverisoulsy to resolve all issues that caused the hardship on everyone at the Mock Meet Saturday.  The good news is that everyone I have talked to that did their mock meets prior to Saturday morning did not have an issue. But none the less, we have taken the following steps to eliminate any possible repeat

Tech Talk

We now have 7 dedicated web servers.  5 dedicated to teams.  The largest teams were spread across different servers and followed by all others to create a balanced load.  The 6th sever will be dedicated to the NWAL website to allow for constant communications.  1 dedicated to Meet Vision.  Previously when one was down, we all were down.

Previously a complete backup ran every 12 days automatically, with random partial backups all on various days. The backup Gods decided that the morning of our mock meet and the busiest day for us next to divisional was that magic day.   Well that will not happen again.

In progress is an NWAL Alert page.  We will post technical details such as usage volume, planned outages, error issues and fixes, etc…  A place when you can quickly check how the league is doing.

Because the teams will be spread across 5 web servers, Meet Vision should not have the challenges it has in the past.  But continue to keep us posted.

New feature to add swimmer from your meet eligibility report.  The NWAL rule of 3 individual events has NOT been update yet but will be soon.  You can see a quick video here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zmoNJWDkjA

We will have 2 STUS Programmers/Staff available on Saturday morning for the next several weeks to address any and all issues that might arise during the meets. Except for May 27th Graduation, I will be dedicated to answering email and calls all during the meet.

We will also have STUS available Thursday 5-8 for any technical issues and of course I will be standing by.  Remember to only merge when you have all your swimmers in.  There should be no UN-MERGES this week.

Test new environment:

Attend an online webinar with go to meeting from the comfort of your home or office at 6:30.  We will be able to see anyone who is having an issue as we watch the server’s usage. Login details below.  It is limited to 95 logins so if you don't get in don't' worry.  We will send out an update after testing is complete and analysis has been done on the testing phase.

Mock meets will be setup for you from a copy of your mock meet.  They are called “12/31 Test: 2017 ……”

When we say go You will:

                Print Heat Sheet (1)

                Print Physic Sheet (1)

                Print Lane Timer sheets (first 26 events)

                Perform Meet Entry results in to column 2 copying your already entered results.  Hit save often.

This will push the new server banks to make SURE they are performing as we need them to.  If all is well and we expect this dramatic new platform to, it will also give you the confidence that it will work.
